Accessing the World and Changing Japan's Future
Flyer Text:
Japanese artists are performing overseas. With an increasing number of bands appearing at major festivals, Japanese music is slowly reaching the world. In fact, quite a few of these bands hail from live houses in Shimokitazawa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku.
BAND-MAID, LOVEBITES, Otoboke Beaver, Hanabie.
Even within their respective fields, the girl bands stand out in a particularly striking way, continuing to evolve with a style that’s uniquely Japanese.
Currently, the Japanese music industry and media lack the capacity to shine a spotlight on the unique talents that continue to grow in Tokyo’s music scene. This scene relies solely on support from passionate and discerning fans. Despite the success of some bands, there are many treasures still hidden in this market.
Interest in this scene overseas is extremely high, as evidenced by communities on YouTube and Reddit. Japanese bands desperately need this overseas demand. The once-classic “intense x cute” formula is no longer a Japanese one; it’s quickly becoming a global language.
One thing is certain: it’s the indie fans, both in Japan and overseas, who are fueling this scene. While small groups of passionate fans can’t promote on the same scale as major labels., overseas music fans still want to connect interactively with Japan’s indie scene. To support these fans, One Sky Music will serve as a gateway, connecting these indie bands with the world.
From Japan to the world, and from the world to Japan. This is the trend of Japan’s 21st century music scene, and One Sky Music will strongly promote this movement.
